Compensation:
Ranges from $75.32 - $139.20 per hour, based on education, experience, and district agreement.
Teach community college level courses in Business Administration, Business Transfer Curriculum, Economics, Accounting, Management, and Marketing, both in theory and application. May also be required to teach online courses.
Duties & ResponsibilitiesProvide instruction, develop course materials, assess student performance, and support learning through technology.
Minimum Qualifications- Possession of a Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in business, business administration, business management, accountancy, business education, finance or marketing;
- OR Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in business, business administration, business management, accountancy, business education, finance or marketing; and a Master’s Degree in economics, personnel management, public administration, or JD or LL.B degree;
- OR Bachelor’s degree in economics with a business emphasis; and a Master’s Degree in personnel management, public administration or JD or LL.B degree;
- May submit a fully satisfied lifetime California Community College Instructor Credential authorizing service to teach courses in Real Estate (currently no longer issued after July 1, 1990); OR equivalent qualifications as conclusive evidence;
- Understanding of, sensitivity to, and respect for the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
- Teaching business in a multi‑cultural environment, preferably lower‑division college teaching experience.
- Practical, applied experience in business, accounting, or management.
- Demonstrated technology skills, especially in teaching online and using technology in the classroom.
- Experience teaching other business courses including general business, business law, marketing, accounting and management.
- An interest in distance learning instruction (online courses).
Temporary, part‑time faculty may subscribe for medical and dental insurance in the district’s group coverage program and receive sick leave under certain conditions.
