Job Description:
$200 signing bonus after 90 days of successful continuous employment.
- Pay rate: $24 - $27 an hour, based on regional grant funding and experience.
- Hours negotiated upon hiring (20 – 30 hours per week, depending on location and need).
- Up to 15 paid holidays per year.

- Flexible spending accounts for commuting expenses; 403(b) eligibility based on total weekly hours.
- Associate Degree or higher, or 48 college units, or passing the Instructional Aide exam.
- Pass a criminal background check and TB test clearance.
- Be able to work every day during after‑school hours and commit to an academic school year (hire date through mid‑June) and some may include summer and intersession employment.
- Previous experience working with kids and the ability to independently lead and supervise up to 22 students while playing, doing homework, and implementing enrichment activities.
- Communicate openly, professionally, and maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Basic technology and computer skills (Word, Email, Workvivo, Workday, Google Drive, etc.).
- Complete all mandated training (Mandated Reporter, Sexual Harassment, SEL PQA, etc.).
- Be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds and be capable of standing and walking for extended periods of time.
- Communicate effectively in English with students and families; basic English reading proficiency to support students’ academic development, enrichment offerings, and school day alignment.
- Facilitate engaging academic, enrichment, recreation, and social‑emotional learning activities for K–12 students.
- Build positive, supportive relationships that foster student belonging, confidence, and engagement.
- Support student behavior using restorative, trauma‑informed, and culturally responsive practices.
- Provide homework assistance and adapt activities to meet diverse learning needs and abilities.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for students of all backgrounds.
- Supervise and actively engage groups of up to 22 youth during indoor and outdoor activities.
- Collaborate effectively with program staff, school personnel, and families to support student success.
- Maintain accurate attendance, incident reports, and other required program documentation.
- Participate fully in staff meetings, professional development, coaching, and trainings.
- Represent BACR professionally in communication, appearance, and conduct at all times.
- Work consistently during after‑school program hours throughout the school year.
- Successful completion of a criminal background check and TB clearance.
- Completion of Mandated Reporter and other required trainings upon hire.
- Ability to stand, move, supervise activities, and lift/carry up to 25 lbs as needed.
