Job Description

The Central Academic Recovery (CAR) team in OUSD's HS Linked Learning Office is seeking a highly motivated and organized History/Social Science Teacher to support and grow our district‑wide academic recovery efforts. CAR supports academic recovery efforts across OUSD's high schools during the school day, after school, online & during the summer (Summer HAcK credit recovery for 9th & 10th graders). Some responsibilities of this position are:

  • Collaborate with a small team to design & implement holistic credit recovery programming
  • Plan & teach World History, U.S. History, Government & Economics lessons across multiple high school sites
  • Provide case management for identified students and conduct frequent family outreach & engagement
  • Bilingual Spanish preferred

Qualifications

Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree, must be eligible for employment in the US and pass a criminal background check. Candidates must possess a Preliminary or Clear California teaching credential authorizing instruction in core TK‑12 curriculum.
