Overview
High School Teacher — Science at Oakland International Academy.
Location:
Oakland International Academy – High School.
Schedule:
Monday – Friday, onsite, following the school calendar.
- Plan and deliver core science instruction aligned to each student’s current level
- Assess student progress regularly and adjust instruction based on results
- Communicate with parents and guardians on progress, behavior, and goals
- Collaborate with teachers and school leadership to improve curriculum and classroom practice
- Maintain accurate records, including grades, attendance, and IEP/504 documentation
- Participate in faculty meetings, school events, and professional development activities
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with an Integrated Science (DI) 6-12 Endorsement, or actively pursuing certification through an approved pathway
- Strong classroom management, organizational skills, and commitment to growth
- Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships with students and families
Preferred:
- Experience with Google Classroom, SMART Boards, or similar classroom technology
- Experience teaching multilingual learners or English language learners
- Competitive base salary plus a performance bonus up to $5,000

Oakland International Academy is hiring for the 2026–2027 school year. You’ll help students from diverse backgrounds, including English language learners, build skills and confidence to pursue college and beyond.
CertificationCertification: A valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with an Integrated Science (DI) 6-12 Endorsement is preferred. If you are not yet certified but willing to work toward it, including through Michigan’s Interim Teaching Certificate (ITC) pathway, we want to hear from you. EMAN offers a tuition assistance program to support certification or pursuing a higher degree. Mentoring within the first 3 years and onsite professional development are provided.
