Position Overview
Head‑Royce School is seeking a full‑time Middle School Spanish teacher to join our team, beginning in August 2026. We seek teachers who are not only excited by the content they teach, but who are also actively engaged in evolving their classroom pedagogy.

We seek applicants who have a strong academic background, experience in culturally responsive teaching, a deep understanding of adolescents, and a genuine fondness for working with all students at this specific age level.
Teacher
Responsibilities include:
- Teaching Spanish at a variety of levels. The ability to teach a heritage oriented Spanish class is a significant plus.
- Being an empathetic and clear communicator with students, colleagues, and parents.
- Demonstrating understanding of and curiosity regarding curriculum design as well as varied pedagogical approaches including UbD and UDL; familiarity with the ACTFL “World‑Readiness Standards for Language Learning” is desired.
- Maintaining strong speaking, writing, planning, and organizational skills.
- Participating in an outdoor education trip for three nights (additional stipend paid).
- Bachelor’s Degree in Spanish Language and/or Literature or equivalent area of study.
- Fluent or Native Spanish speaker.
- 2 years minimum teaching experience.
- Demonstrated desire to teach at the high school level.
- Proven ability to teach a variety of Spanish classes at the high school level.
- Ability to provide proof of Fingerprint, SB 848 and TB clearance.
- Advanced degrees/certification desirable in Spanish or Spanish education.
- Ability to participate in an outdoor education trip for 3–4 nights (additional stipend paid).
