Head of Schools JOB GOALS:
Under the direction of a Head of Schools or designee, perform a variety of duties related to the supervision of students on and off assigned school grounds. Campus Supervisors supervise play activities; enforce school rules; settle pupil disputes; maintain discipline and compliance with school and District rules and procedures. Must be available to work Saturdays.

JOB DUTIES:

Monitor and/or supervise children as assigned.

Model positive behavior and communication, promoting courtesy in all interactions.

Handle disciplinary cases. Encourage appropriate conflict resolution techniques.

Prevent or break up student conflicts or fights.

Complete or assist with incident reports as necessary.

Encourage children to eat during nutrition and lunch.

Seat and dismiss children from the cafeteria and/or eating areas.

Maintain a quiet and pleasant atmosphere in the lunch areas.

May wipe tables, benches in the cafeteria and/or outside lunch areas.

Assist cafeteria workers as assigned.

Issue approved equipment for lunchtime activities; maintain order in games and play activities.

Open and close facilities for outdoor user groups. Escort and direct authorized visitors to their destination; provide general information and assistance.

Prevent unauthorized personnel on school grounds. Notify the Head of Schools or designee immediately of any suspicious or unsafe conditions on campus.

Escort students to and from administrative offices as needed.

Maintain traffic control in parking areas as assigned.

Work with individual students to enhance positive behavior. Under guidance or instruction, may monitor behavior goals for students.

Assist in fostering an environment that stimulates the growth of desirable social, emotional, and health habits.

Lead safety protocols at drop off and pick up times.

Escort students to and from classrooms and cars as needed.

Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School graduate or equivalent

Valid California driver’s license

Fingerprinting and TB test required KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

Student guidance principles and practices.

Procedures and techniques involved in supervising and disciplining students.

Record-keeping techniques.

Ability to meet the driving and transportation requirements.

Security patrol tactics.

Basic methods of individual and group supervision.

Communicate effectively with students, staff, and public.

Patrol and monitor an assigned campus to maintain order and security.

Assure student compliance with school and District policies and regulations.

Perform duties with patience, tact, and good judgment and within established guidelines.

Identify campus violations and inappropriate behavior.

Read, interpret, and follow rules regulations, policies, and procedures.

Work confidentially with discretion.

Understand the needs of students of a variety of ages and interests.

Learn the procedures, functions, and limitations of assigned duties.
