The Department of Multidisciplinary Graduate Engineering, withinthe College of Engineering, invites applications for the Adjunct Faculty positions for teaching selected graduate courses in the Multidisciplinary Masters Degree programs in Oakland, CA.

The MGEN unit seeks to produce more effective software engineers who are substantially more capable than ever of addressing theneeds of digital society in terms of time, cost, and quality. Theunit will accomplish this by revolutionizing the way software is designed and evolved overtime, and believe software is a systems engineering challenge rather than a coding problem. Responsibilities include preparation of lectures, course materials,examinations, and evaluation of student performance in thecourse.

The Multidisciplinary Masters Degree suite of degree programs in Oakland include:

• MS in Information Systems focuses on the intersection ofcutting-edge technology and business complexity with an emphasis onthe art and science of designing intricate software applicationsespecially in the areas of healthcare, security and privacy,auditing and compliance, business improvement and intelligence, aswell as financial accountability. Courses include application engineering and development, engineering big-data systems, and engineering secure software systems.
• MS in Information Systems Bridge is focused for students withnon-STEM, non-technical bachelor's degrees that are the knowledgelink between business users and technologists by understanding the complexities of both. Students' undergraduate work in the humanities provides them with a unique perspective and approach in developing systems via a socio-technical lens. Students takecourses specifically designed to bridge their current professionalpursuits with the background and industry knowledge needed toadvance in the IT sector.
  
  As industries launch into a digitizedfuture, professionals with a clear understanding of how technologycan be used to address large societal challenges are indemand.

M.S. or Ph.D. in relevant engineering discipline is required; someprofessional and/or teaching experience preferred. Must have strong, effective verbal skills to communicate well with students.
