Part Time Dance Instructor

Class Purpose

Peralta Community College District is seeking qualified Part-Time Faculty members to provide high-quality instruction and student support in accordance with the District's mission of advancingequity, student success, and academic excellence. Part-time facultyare responsible for delivering engaging, inclusive instruction that promotes student learning and achievement while supporting the diverse educational goals of the District's students.

Assignments are made on an as-needed basis and may include day,evening, weekend, online, or hybrid classes at any of the District's colleges.

• Teach assigned courses in accordance with approved course outlines and student learning outcomes.
• Prepare and deliver effective, student-centered instructionusing evidence-based teaching practices.
• Develop and maintain course syllabi, instructional materials,assignments, and assessments.
• Evaluate student performance in a timely and equitable mannerand maintain accurate academic records.
• Submit grades and other required reports by established deadlines.
• Create an inclusive, respectful, and supportive learning environment for students from diverse backgrounds.
• Maintain regular communication with students and respondpromptly to inquiries.
• Utilize the District's learning management system and other instructional technologies as appropriate.
• Comply with District policies, collective bargaining agreements, accreditation standards, and applicable federal andstate regulations.
• Participate in department meetings, professional development,and other college activities as appropriate for part-timefaculty.

• Possession of a Master’s degree in dance, physical education with a dance emphasis, or theater with dance emphasis,
  OR
• Possession of a Bachelor’s degree in any of the above
  AND Master’s in physical education, any life science,physiology, theater arts, kinesiology, humanities, performing artsor music OR
• the equivalent
• Understanding of, sensitivity to and respect for the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of Peralta Colleges’ students, faculty, staff and community.
