DescriptionResponsible for conducting design work on building structures requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, and application of engineering techniques on increasingly difficult tasks. Understand procedures and criteria for various project types, including but not limited to concrete, steel, masonry, and wood. Works closely with project team internally and externally to deliver projects.
RequirementsESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Technical
- Assists in collecting data and gathers information or documents for project with guidance.
- Performs standard computations or analysis.
- Assists in preparing drawings and visual aids with guidance.
- Assists in construction activities with guidance.
- Reviews weekly project staffing reports.
- Understands assigned tasks and roles on a project.
- Communicates with the internal project team and escalates concerns to senior leaders as needed.
- Manages personal time to meet project deadlines and communicates conflicts to project managers.
- Increases understanding of QA/QC protocols, client service expectations, and key financial indicators.
- Attends meetings with senior engineers and manages Level I projects.
- Provides feedback to improve operational procedures.
- Develops engineering and drawing SOPs with guidance.
- Participates in hiring and training new staff.
- Assists in preparing presentations and understands organizational strategic goals.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- B.S. or M.S. in Civil/Structural Engineering or 8 years of related experience.
- At least 1 year of experience in structural engineering.
- Engineer in Training license; LEED AP encouraged.
- Ability to lead by example, stay current with industry trends, and communicate effectively.
- Knowledge of Enercalc, Bluebeam, Risa 3D, Google Suite, Deltek VP, MS Office; industry organization membership encouraged.
- Ability to travel as needed, with strong problem-solving skills.
