Senior Mechanical Engineer – San Francisco / Los Angeles / Oakland The Opportunity
- Lead mechanical engineering designs and provide multi‑disciplinary design leadership on projects.
- Design mechanical systems, including complete airside systems, heating and cooling hydronic plant systems, specialty exhaust systems, and steam systems.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and code officials such as HCAi to deliver integrated projects through construction.
- Coordinate with multiple disciplines and project managers to deliver comprehensive design deliverables.
- Assist, supervise, or mentor team members and provide timely feedback and recognition.
- Maintain strong client relations related to project delivery and repeat business.
- Prepare drawings, specifications, technical reports and presentation materials while incorporating sustainable design methods.
- Present technical material to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Participate in local Professional Associations.
- Take responsibility for quality standards, commercial metrics, and client relations for projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or architectural engineering.
- 8 or more years of professional experience designing and building HVAC systems, including airside and hydronic system components, and experience working on hospital projects.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit MEP.
- Familiarity with codes and standards, specifically CMC, OSHPD, IECC/ASHRAE 90.1, FGI/ASHRAE 170, LEED energy efficiency and indoor quality, and NFPA.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills essential for team‑based work.
- Presentation skills with colleagues and clients of all levels and commercial/financial awareness.
- The ability to prioritize effectively, balance assigned work, and maintain exceptional organization skills in an evolving environment.
- Professional Engineering License in the U.S.
- LEED Accreditation or WELL Certification.
- Engineering analysis and energy modeling experience, including whole‑building energy analysis, façade thermal analysis, and airflow modeling.

The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in San Francisco is $129,100 to $146,700 per year. Benefits are not included in the base salary.
