Position Summary:As a journey-level Project Engineer, you'll leverage your expertise to lead the engineering and design of sophisticated projects. You'll work independently, applying engineering principles with minimal supervision, and collaborate with a diverse team to assess project needs. This role involves developing technical studies, guiding contractors, and traveling for project-related functions approximately 20% of the time.
Job Responsibilities:- Resolve moderate scope problems using standard solutions
- Independently plan work under general direction
- Provide technical expertise and conduct engineering analyses
- Present findings to internal teams, contractors, and vendors
- Prepare technical documents including design criteria and reports
- Develop and recommend alternative project proposals
- Review consultant contracts for technical compliance
- Interpret and apply applicable codes and regulations
- Assist in developing restoration plans and root cause analysis
- Respond promptly to facility failures in emergencies
- Represent PG&E to government bodies for assigned projects
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited US curriculum or equivalent
- 3 years of cumulative experience in engineering and design
- Experience in electrical transmission line engineering for 115kv–500kv
- Familiarity with GO 95, NESC, and PG&E transmission line standards
- Proficiency in PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, etc.
- Strong project management skills
