This position is for GFT Infrastructure, Inc. to work for our Oakland, CA Regional Office. May telecommute up to 2 days/week. Perform engineering calculations, technical studies, and prepare plans and specs for a variety of projects, including new dams, dams and spillway rehabilitation, decommissioning of dams, levees, outlet facilities (gates, valves and piping), erosion and sediment control plans, stormwater management facilities, culverts and outfalls, open channels, hydrologic/hydraulic modeling, floodplain studies, inundation mapping, structure foundations, natural and engineered slopes, dredging operations, and dam inspections.
Provide general oversight, control, and management of design-related activities for a project, including technical reviews. Prepare reports and letters. Determine client requirements and develop designs and contract documents. Work with client and other disciplines to prepare designs dictated by scope of work. Review and approve hydrologic/hydraulic calculations and modeling involved in evaluation and design of dams, waterways and associated facilities/structures.
Review and approve stability analyses of dam embankments and associated facilities/structures. Review vendor drawings and evaluate need for design changes and make project recommendations. Consult with construction personnel concerning field conditions, sequencing and scheduling. Ensure production of drawings and specifications meet scope, schedule, cost and quality requirements and federal, state, and local requirements. Provide direction and supervision for junior level engineers.
Manage subsurface investigation programs. Communicate independently with clients. Work with multi-disciplinary teams and lead tasks and simple project teams. May undergo background checks including MV check and drug screening. Little national travel to client locations involved but will not exceed 60 days/year and 10 days/trip. Salary $155,667 per year.
Must have Bachelors Engineering or related field and 4 years relevant exp designing water facilities. Also requires the following skills (4 yrs exp) in: design software and GIS; HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS and SITES; CADD; MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook); and experience managing small work groups and project tasks. Also requires PE license.
Compensation:
The salary range for this role is $150,000 - $155,667. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
