Civil Design Engineer

Job Overview

We are seeking a Civil/Structural Design Engineer to join our Civil Engineering team. In this role, you will develop civil, structural, and environmental designs that support a large network of high-voltage electric infrastructure. You will play a key role in delivering safe, reliable, and cost-effective infrastructure projects that support critical power system operations.

This position will collaborate closely with engineering, construction, operations, and maintenance teams while preparing construction drawings, performing engineering analyses, and supporting project execution from concept through construction.

• Develop civil, structural, and environmental engineering designs for high‑voltage substation projects.
• Prepare construction drawings, engineering calculations, specifications, and supporting documentation.
• Participate in field reviews and site visits at client facilities to gather information and verify design requirements.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across engineering, construction, operations, and maintenance to define project objectives and deliver solutions.
• Perform structural analysis and design for substation structures, foundations, and related infrastructure.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable industry standards, engineering practices, and company requirements.
• Support project planning, design reviews, and construction activities as needed.

• Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
• Minimum 1+ year of structural/civil engineering experience.
• Knowledge of applicable building codes and standards, including ASCE 7, California Building Code (CBC), ACI 318, and AISC 360.
• Experience with SAP
  2000 or equivalent structural analysis software.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
