The ideal candidate combines strong power systems fundamentals
, hands‑on experience with planning tools
, and programming skills
, and is excited to work at the intersection of power engineering and high-performance computing.
- Develop Transmission and Distribution network models using panda power (Python)
- Convert and validate existing network models from CYME and GE PSLF into panda power equivalents
- Ensure electrical fidelity between source models and converted models (topology, parameters, limits, results)
- Work with NVIDIA engineers in developing Powerflow analysis solution using GPUs and CUDA libraries
- Collaborate with power systems engineers, data scientists, and GPU/HPC specialists to enable GPU-accelerated simulations
- Assist in benchmarking CPU vs GPU performance for power system studies
- Document modeling assumptions, validation results, and technical findings for internal and executive audiences
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems focus preferred)
- Strong foundation in power system analysis
, including: - Power flow (AC/DC)
- Transmission and Distribution modeling
- Per-unit systems and network parameters
- Hands‑on experience with power system planning tools
- Programming experience
- Experience with Transmission Planning and/or Distribution Planning studies
- Understanding of power system matrices (Y-bus, Jacobian, PTDF/LODF)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly
- Familiarity with panda power or other open-source power system frameworks (strong plus)
