OverviewTRC Advanced Energy (TRC) is a nationally known energy efficiency consultancy. TRC collaborates with clients to develop and implement market-transforming programs and initiatives that promote energy efficiency, renewable energy, and green building across multiple market sectors throughout the U.S. These initiatives reduce energy costs, improve the health and safety conditions of buildings, and help protect the environment by reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

TRC is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Project Associate to support energy efficiency projects and initiatives, with a focus on the commercial and agricultural sectors in this full-time, entry-level role, the Project Associate will conduct energy audits, perform energy savings calculations, analyze data, and support the development of project recommendations. This position offers the opportunity to build technical and analytical expertise through hands-on work in energy efficiency project evaluation, technical reporting, and process automation.
Ideal candidates will be resourceful, adaptable, and team-oriented professionals with strong communication and time management skills. Related experience in the industrial sector is a plus. Travel up to 25% may be required.
Candidates must be able to travel to Pacific Gas and Electric service territory on short notice. California residency is preferred.
Responsibilities- Conduct energy audits to identify opportunities for energy efficiency improvements, with a focus on the agriculture and food processing sectors.
- Perform energy savings calculations and analyze data to support project recommendations.
- Develop and generate macros to automate processes and improve efficiency in data analysis and reporting.
- Assist in preparing detailed reports and presentations summarizing audit findings and savings calculations.
- Support process optimization and automation initiatives to enhance project execution and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project implementation and execution.
- Provide quality assurance for energy audit deliverables to ensure accuracy and alignment with program standards.
- Organize and maintain project files to ensure accessibility and efficient operations.
- Assist with creating timelines, milestones, and deliverables to track progress and support efficient project execution.
- Provide general administrative support to ensure smooth project and program operations.
- Support quarterly actuals and forecast planning for TSB and TRC to ensure alignment with budget targets.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, energy management, environmental science, or a related technical field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with solid time management, organizational abilities, and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
- Demonstrated technical aptitude and interest in energy efficiency, data analysis, and process improvement.
