Finance and Grants Manager at Dream Youth Clinic Oakland, CA

Position Summary

The Finance Manager will be responsible for budgeting, financial reporting, grant compliance, day‑to‑day accounting and bookkeeping, and for providing staff financial technical assistance.

• Develop, monitor, and update annual organizational and program budgets
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for leadership and the Board
• Lead the annual audit and coordinate with external auditors
• Prepare and organize financials and submit 990 taxes in a timely manner
• Maintain accurate general ledger and chart of accounts

• Manage accounts payable and receivable
• Process payroll in coordination with HR department
• Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements
• Ensure timely and accurate financial data entry and documentation

• Track restricted and unrestricted funds, ensuring grant compliance
• Prepare financial reports for funders
• Assist with budget narratives and documentation for grant proposals

• Advise leadership on financial strategy, forecasting, and risk management
• Support fiscal sponsor coordination (if applicable)
• Recommend improvements to internal controls and financial systems
• Contribute to team‑wide strategic planning with a lens on financial sustainability

• Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field
• Minimum 3 years of relevant nonprofit financial management experience
• Strong proficiency with Xero, Expensify, , Adobe, Docusign, Quick Books, Excel, and Google Workspace
• Strong Knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit accounting principles
• Extremely detailed oriented and precise regarding numbers and finances
• Excellent organizational and analytical skills
• Experience with Federal, State government, foundation grants management along with City and County Contract management

• Experience working with youth‑centered or social justice non‑profit organizations
• Experience with social enterprise financial management is a plus

• Regularly required to stand, walk, climb stairs, bend, stoop, and lift up to 15 lbs.
• Requires use of computers and office equipment.

Salary Range: $70,000 – $75,000 annually (commensurate with experience)
