The Superior Court of California, County of Alameda is accepting applications for the position of Fiscal Services Specialist that is assigned to the Trust & Treasury Unit within the Finance and Facilities Division. Under direction, a Fiscal Services Specialist performs a variety of finance and budget functions and transactions including but not limited to: preparing and maintaining a variety of finance and budgeting records and reports;
verifying the correctness of financial documents, analysis and interpretations of financial records, transactions and reports; requisitioning supplies and equipment; invoice processing and reconciliation; general ledger maintenance and statistical record keeping work which requires previous experience in the area of financial, budget and statistical record keeping, where assigned; and performs other related duties as assigned.
When assigned to this unit, incumbents will have ongoing responsibility to research, reconcile and correct errors in financial data. This includes learning and understanding several operational case management systems; maintaining financial system; managing trust accounts; preparing spreadsheet reports to provide analysis. The incumbent will also prepare and create journal entries; maintain supporting financial documents for audit purposes and adhering to the Court's policies and procedures;
and demonstrate the ability to manage multiple project deadlines.
The current vacancy is assigned to work in the Rene
C. Davidson Courthouse located in Oakland, CA. The successful candidate may be reassigned to work in other business units based on the operational business needs.
NOTE:
The following are duties performed by employees in this classification; however, employees may perform other related duties at an equivalent level. Each individual in the classification does not necessarily perform all list duties.
Experience:
Two (2) years of full-time work experience in finance and budget functions. Such experience should include processing financial transactions, fiscal and budget transactional processing and analysis, verifying correctness of financial documents, and experience with procurement, accounts payable, treasury functions, and other related fiscal analysis.

Education:
Possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in accounting or other related field that includes general and governmental accounting.
- Ability to prepare daily and month end reconciliations to analyze and correct imbalances.
- Learn and independently prepare accurate journal entries.
- Highly organized and maintains accurate reporting and summaries to comply with policies and procedures.
- Experience in creating analysis and reporting utilizing financial systems and spreadsheets.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
