Exempt Limited Duration Employee (ELDE):
This is an at-will position, exempt from the provisions of the City of Oakland Civil Service Rules (per Charter Section 902f). Exempt Limited Duration positions may not exceed a period of one year.

The Watershed and Stormwater Management Division of Oakland Public Works (OPW) is responsible for protecting water quality by preventing pollutants from entering the stormwater drain system, while also maintaining and improving the health of local creeks and watersheds. The division coordinates and implements Citywide compliance with water quality and environmental regulations and supports the planning of infrastructure rehabilitation and upgrades, including trash capture, green stormwater infrastructure, and creek restoration.

In addition, the division advances innovative mapping and asset management efforts and plans and manages projects that support the City's watershed, drainage, and environmental goals. Our work includes stormwater pollution, green stormwater infrastructure, creek protection and restoration, environmental review, illicit discharge investigations and enforcement, and Lake Merritt water quality projects. • Conducting field investigations and inspections of creeks, green stormwater infrastructure, proposed development sites, land acquisition sites, business and City corporation yards, illicit discharges, and storm-related emergencies.
