POSITION: Evaluator I, Temporary
DEPARTMENT: Community Wellness
REPORTS TO: Senior Program Manager, Data & Evaluation
LOCATION: Native American Health Center, Inc. (NAHC)
WORK HOURS: Full Time, 40 Hours Per Week, 100% FTE
STATUS: Temporary, Non-Union, Non-Exempt
The Evaluator I will evaluate the effectiveness and impact of a portfolio of grant-funded Community Wellness programs improving the health and wellbeing of American Indians, Alaska Natives, and other residents of our surrounding communities. This role will work closely with the Senior Program Manager, Data & Evaluation, Data & Evaluation team, and Program Managers to design and implement monitoring and evaluation plans, lead quantitative and qualitative data collection, perform analyses, share findings, and lead knowledge translation in a community-based setting.
The Native American Health Center is an accredited institution and adheres to the standards of excellence set forth by the Accreditation Association of Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) and the Commission of Dental Accreditation (CODA).
This is a temporary position with an anticipated end date of June 30, 2026.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesEvaluation, Data Collection, and Analysis
- Lead data collection, monitoring, and evaluation efforts for grant-funded community wellness programs.
- Develop and implement evaluation frameworks and process/outcome evaluation plans aligned with program goals.
- Create and maintain data monitoring systems using tools including Smartsheets, Excel, and Epic EHR.
- Develop and administer surveys, interview guides, and other instrumentation to collect qualitative and quantitative data.
- Attend funder, grantee, and collaborative meetings.
- Meet all funder requirements and deadlines for data and evaluation deliverables.
- Ensure adherence to ethical standards and principles throughout the program evaluation process.
- Conduct literature reviews on topics across public health, Behavioral Health, Native/Indigenous health, and program evaluation.
Community Relationships and Participation
- Partner with Program Managers and other program staff to ensure meaningful participation by community members in all evaluation processes, including design, data collection, interpretation, and dissemination of findings.
- Facilitate Community Advisory Board meetings when appropriate.
- Work with staff and community to identify and develop projects that respond to community needs.
- Attend community events, groups, and gatherings to conduct data and evaluation activities.
- Keep all protected health information (PHI) confidential and abide by HIPAA guidelines for the release and disclosure of any PHI.
Reporting, Dissemination, and Knowledge Translation
- Prepare evaluation and data reports for internal and external audiences.
- Create visual deliverables to present data such as charts, infographics, and dashboards.
- Present results and findings for diverse internal and external audiences and settings, including grantee meetings, community gatherings, staff meetings, and to NAHC leadership and/or the Board of Directors.
- Develop or collaborate on manuscripts for peer reviewed publications, abstract submissions, and conference presentations.
Staff Collaboration, Training, and Supervision
- Provide regular feedback to Program Managers, staff, and community partners to improve program design and delivery.
- Develop and implement trainings on data and evaluation topics for Community Wellness Department staff, community members, and community partners.
- May be asked to supervise students or interns, if applicable.
General Duties and Responsibilities
- Attend all scheduled meetings and training sessions as required, ensuring meetings do not overlap and adequate travel time has been allocated.
- Adhere to ergonomic safety standards, maintaining proper posture and engaging in regular ergonomic stretches.
- Prioritize safety by ensuring that all tasks and operations are conducted with the highest consideration for the well-being of all personnel, including oneself.
- Take prompt and appropriate corrective measures to address any concerns related to employee health and safety that are brought to one's attention.
- Perform effectively under pressure, managing multiple and sometimes conflicting deadlines efficiently.
- Demonstrate cooperative and professional behavior at all times when interacting with supervisors, colleagues, subordinates, clients, and the community.
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor and Director of CWD.
