HR Manager – Hands-On People & Operations LeaderVantaggio HR's client, ERG Aerospace, is looking for a HR Manager.

The RoleAre you an HR professional who loves being in the thick of it? ERG Aerospace is looking for a Hands-On HR Manager to lead our daily people operations. Reporting directly to the CEO, you won’t just be sitting in a boardroom - you’ll be on the floor, in the files, and across our Nevada and California facilities ensuring our team is supported and our compliance is airtight.
We are a growing, family-owned manufacturing leader in the aerospace and defense sectors founded in 1967 and a pioneer in the industry, manufacturing materials that literally power the semiconductor, defense, and biomedical sectors.
We need a "doer" who can manage everything from payroll and benefits to employee relations and multi-state compliance with precision and a positive attitude. This position is 5 days a week on-site job, but we are open to the individual having their base location at either one of our facilities in Oakland or Sparks with bi-weekly travel between the two.
Your Day-to-Day Impact- The Pulse of the Company: Manage the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding for our technical and manufacturing teams.
- Compliance Lead: Keep us ahead of the curve on Nevada and California employment laws. You’ll be the one ensuring our handbooks, policies, and practices are 100% up to date.
- Benefits & Payroll Support: Act as the primary point of contact for benefits administration, open enrollment, and coordinating with payroll to ensure total accuracy.
- Employee Relations: Be the trusted face of HR. You’ll handle conflict resolution, coaching for supervisors, and maintaining our "supportive entrepreneurial" culture.
- HRIS Master: Take ownership of our HR systems, ensuring data integrity and pulling the reports needed to help us manage "smart goals" and KPIs.
- The "Do-er" Mindset: You aren't afraid to roll up your sleeves. Whether it's filing a report or helping a manager with a tough conversation, you jump in.
- Multi-State Expertise: You have a solid grasp of California and Nevada labor laws (leave laws, wage and hour, etc.).
- Manufacturing Roots: You enjoy the fast-paced, "common sense" environment of a manufacturing plant.
- Experience: 5+ years of HR management experience.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in HR or Business. SHRM-CP or SCP is a huge plus.
- Tech Savvy: You are proficient in Microsoft Office and experienced with HRIS platforms.

- Compensation: $100,000 – $110,000 base salary and 20% target bonus

- Travel: Bi-weekly visits of a couple of days each time to the alternative location.
