Location & Onsite Flexibility:
Oakland, California (Hybrid - 1-2 Days Onsite Weekly) ⚠️ Only submit candidates local to the Bay Area. Assignment requires onsite presence in Oakland GO 1-2 times per week.
Position Details:
- Position Type: Contract

- Pay Rate: $50 - $55 per Hour
Equipment: Laptop will be provided. Any additional equipment is the responsibility of the supplier.
Cell Phone: Required. With prior manager approval, a pre-determined monthly expense may be submitted.
Position OverviewThe Technical Analyst supports gas transmission and distribution operations through large-scale data analysis, GIS review, and SharePoint data management. This role requires a self-starter who can translate complex data insights clearly to multiple audiences and proactively recommend value-added improvements. The position involves analyzing gas pipeline information within GIS systems, maintaining SharePoint and Access databases, and ensuring high data quality standards across multiple business units.
Key Responsibilities- Initiate and ensure timely resolution of cross-functional business requests
- Manage multiple concurrent work streams with overlapping schedules
- Evaluate and process SharePoint data modifications, including uploads and Access database updates
- Locate and analyze gas pipeline information within Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
- Review and annotate documentation related to gas transmission and distribution pipelines
- Perform large-scale technical and data quality analysis to identify and correct discrepancies
- Provide detailed reports of corrective actions to team leadership
- Maintain concise documentation of all work performed
- Utilize available software tools to optimize productivity and maintain quality standards
- Execute structured processes based on guidelines and leadership direction
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Analysis, or equivalent work experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft SharePoint, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Strong MS Access data management skills (import/export, queries, database updates)
- Experience with limited VBA/Macro development and troubleshooting
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Ability to clearly communicate technical findings to diverse audiences
- Self-starter with the ability to add value through proactive recommendations
