About our Internship Program

As a Thred Up summer intern, you won't just be observing-you'll be an essential part of the team, gaining a firsthand glimpse into what it's like to work at the world's largest fashion resale platform.

During our intensive 10-week paid program, you will own and tackle high-impact, challenging projects alongside our world-class team, with the real opportunity to influence Thred Up's business strategy and our sustainable mission.

About the Internship

This internship offers an exciting opportunity to work as an AI/ML Software Engineer intern on Thred Up's Fintech team, where you'll apply machine learning and Large Language Models (LLMs) to solve real-world business problems 'll play a hands-on role in building and expanding intelligent systems that automate workflows and power our customer service AI assistant, Dottie, with direct impact on customer experience and operational efficiency.

Throughout the internship, you'll collaborate closely with experienced software engineers, data scientists, and product managers to design, develop, and integrate AI-driven solutions used across the company.

This role is ideal for a Bachelor's or Master's student with a strong computer science foundation who is passionate about AI, automation, and practical application of ML technologies. You'll gain experience developing LLM-based applications, improving conversational and agent-based systems, and optimizing workflows for Finance, Accounting, Operations, and Customer Service teams. The internship is well-suited for candidates who enjoy translating business needs into scalable technical solutions and want exposure to end-to-end system design, experimentation, and iteration.

By the end of the program, you'll have delivered production-impacting features, developed industry-relevant skills, and gained insight into how AI drives measurable business outcomes in a fast-paced e-commerce environment.

This is a 10 week internship from 6/8/2026 - 8/13/2026

This is an hourly role and pays $35 - 50 per hour based on the currently enrolled academic program or completed level of education.
