Job Description And DutiesUnder the general direction of the Branch Chief, Information Technology Manager II, IT District Operations, the incumbent serves as the Chief for the District 4 IT Office. The incumbent oversees the Desktop Support, System Support, and Business Service Operations Units. These IT operations are staffed by IT professionals in various classifications ranging from Information Technology Associate to Information Technology Supervisor II.
These professionals are responsible for end‑user desktop and mobile computer support, Local Area Network support, Server Hosting, Storage Management, IT Procurement, Asset Management, etc.
The incumbent has full management responsibility for the standards, processes, and procedures for the analysis, design, implementation, maintenance, operation, and procurement of hardware and software for desktops and mobile devices. The incumbent also has full management responsibility for organizing, planning, coordinating, directing, and controlling all activities associated with the day‑to‑day IT operations of the District 4 Oakland Office and its supported region.

Special Requirements- Pursuant to California Code of Regulations 549.90, this position will be filled via the California Department of Transportation Managerial Selection Program (MSP) process.

- One year of experience as an Information Technology Supervisor II;
- Six years of information technology experience performing a variety of progressively responsible technical, analytical, or supervisory tasks in support of computer systems or services in one or more of the major six domains or a closely related or emerging IT field.
