Threat Intelligence Engineer

Hands-on threat intelligence role focused on external adversaries, attacker techniques, and intelligence-driven defense (not insider threat or SOC monitoring).

6-month, W2 Contract (High potential for extension)

Hybrid: 3 days on-site per week in Oakland, CA

We’re supporting a large, consumer-facing Fin Tech organization on a contract hire for a Threat Intelligence Engineer. This is a hands‑on role focused on external adversary behavior, emerging threats, and intelligence-driven security decisions.

• Collect, enrich, and analyze threat intelligence from internal and external sources
• Track emerging attacker techniques, tooling, and realistic attack paths
• Translate intelligence into actionable insights for detection, response, and defensive prioritization
• Partner closely with Security Engineering and adjacent security teams
• Contribute to threat modeling and broader threat landscape analysis

• 4+ years of hands‑on Threat Intelligence experience
• Strong understanding of attacker TTPs and modern threat frameworks
• Comfortable operating in an engineering‑led, collaborative security environment
