GIS Solution Lead

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled GIS Solution Lead with strong expertise in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and AI-driven solutioning to support our sales and solution engineering teams. This role bridges business needs, geospatial technologies, and AI innovation, helping customers design and adopt advanced spatial intelligence solutions. The ideal candidate combines technical depth in GIS platforms with hands‑on experience in AI/ML technologies and excels in translating complex solutions into business value during the pre‑sales lifecycle.

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Geospatial Sciences / GIS
• Computer Science / Engineering
• Data Science or related field

• 15 – 20 years of experience in GIS consulting, solution architecture, or pre‑sales engineering
• Proven experience building or supporting AI/ML solutions in enterprise environments

• GIS platforms: ESRI ArcGIS (Enterprise, Online), Utility Network Model, FME Workbench, utility domain experience (Electric and Gas), spatial databases (Postgre
  
  SQL)
• AI/ML: regression, clustering, classification, deep learning for imagery analysis; frameworks/tools:
  Python, Tensor Flow, PyTorch, Scikit‑learn; AI solution architecture and deployment
• Cloud & Data Platforms: AWS and Azure ecosystems, AI/ML services, data platforms, API integrations and microservices‑based architectures

• Strong client‑facing and presentation skills
• Excellent problem‑solving and analytical mindset
• Ability to explain complex technical concepts in simple business terms
• Strong collaboration across sales, technical, and product teams
• Strategic thinking with a focus on value‑driven solutioning

• Partner with client business teams to understand customer requirements and craft tailored GIS + AI solutions
• Lead technical discovery sessions, workshops, and solution design discussions
• Develop solution architectures integrating GIS, AI/ML and cloud technologies
• Lead and deliver compelling product demonstrations, POCs, and prototypes
• Create technical proposals, RFP/RFI responses, and effort estimates
• Design and position AI‑driven geospatial solutions: predictive spatial analytics, computer vision for satellite/drone imagery, NLP for location‑based insights; integrate GIS platforms with AI frameworks; recommend scalable architectures leveraging cloud AI services
• Act as a trusted advisor to customers, influencing technology decisions; communicate solution value to both technical and business stakeholders; translate business challenges into data‑driven geospatial use cases
• Stay current with GIS trends, AI advancements, and industry use cases; support internal teams with training, knowledge sharing, and best practices; collaborate with product and engineering teams to refine offerings
