Department Overview

PG&E’s Executive Protection Organization is part of the PG&E Security Organization and is committed to addressing the ever-changing landscape of cyber and physical security threats. We live by our motto – led by security, owned by all. We seek to continually improve our services through strategic deployment of our resources, standardizing security practices and policies, and reinforcing and promoting security awareness across the enterprise.

Within this organization, the Corporate Security function develops and manages enterprise security programs that support risk-informed decision-making, operational resilience, and executive safety. This includes overseeing governance structures, enhancing program maturity, and driving alignment across multiple security disciplines, including Executive Protection. Executive Protection is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of high-profile individuals within the organization, including executives, Board members, and other key personnel.

Through a combination of intelligence-driven risk assessments, threat monitoring, and strategic security measures, the team ensures a proactive and adaptive approach to executive safety. Focused on discretion and rapid response, the Executive Protection Department plays a critical role in safeguarding the organization’s leadership and maintaining business continuity. The External Threat Intelligence (ETI) team provides the forward-looking intelligence capability that underpins both executive protection and broader corporate security programs.

ETI is responsible for identifying, analyzing, and translating external threat activity into actionable insights. The team supports risk-informed decision-making through continuous monitoring, intelligence production, and strategic assessments, enabling proactive threat detection, early warning, and data-driven prioritization across the enterprise. ETI works in close partnership with Executive Protection to inform protective intelligence, travel risk assessments, executive risk posture, and response planning.
