Our client is seeking a highly skilled and proactive ICT Infrastructure Specialist to join their team in Gauteng in the role of Superintendent Technical Specialist.

This role is critical to ensuring the stability, performance, and security of server and storage infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing both virtual and physical environments and a strong understanding of backup, disaster recovery, and vendor coordination.

• Perform daily backups of critical data and systems.
• Test and maintain disaster recovery plans.
• Install, configure, and upgrade servers (virtual and physical).
• Monitor and maintain storage systems.
• Apply system patches and firmware updates.
• Monitor system performance and ensure high availability.
• Enforce compliance with software and version standards.
• Manage service providers and vendors.
• Resolve issues quickly and efficiently.
• Work with business units to understand IT needs.
• Recommend and implement technology improvements.
• Use deployment tools for software and patch management.
• Support projects with technical input and effort estimates.
• Improve system functionality, reliability, and cost-efficiency.

• Diploma or Advanced Certificate in Information Technology.
• Relevant certifications in one or more of the following:
  Microsoft Windows Server, Microsoft System Center, VMware, Hyper‑V, Commvault, or Nutanix.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a back office infrastructure role.
• Experience managing on‑premises data centres.
• Proven experience in process automation and workflow creation/support.
• Well‑versed in storage management, Commvault backup and recovery, and software and operating system deployment using System Center Configuration Manager.
• Strong customer service skills within an ICT environment.
• Ability to conduct research and effectively analyse and interpret data.
• In‑depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server operating systems.
• Experience working with various server hardware platforms.
• Hands‑on experience with virtualization technologies, including VMware and Hyper‑V.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities.
