Expert Programmer Analyst – Technical Lead (Data Privacy & Governance Platform)

We are seeking an experienced Technical Lead to own and lead an enterprise data privacy and governance platform
. This individual will serve as the primary technical authority responsible for platform architecture, integrations, cloud infrastructure, operational stability, and long-term strategy.

The ideal candidate combines hands-on technical expertise with leadership experience and has worked with BigID or similar data privacy/data governance platforms in large enterprise environments.

This is a hybrid position requiring approximately one day per week onsite in Oakland, CA
.

• Serve as the primary technical owner and subject matter expert for the enterprise data privacy platform.
• Design, maintain, and improve platform architecture across cloud and on-premise environments.
• Lead technical design for new platform capabilities, enhancements, and integrations.
• Develop and maintain API integrations with enterprise applications.
• Build and maintain automation scripts to support platform operations.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the Operations & Maintenance team.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues.
• Collaborate with Privacy, Security, Infrastructure, and Application teams.
• Work directly with software vendors on support, upgrades, and product roadmap discussions.
• Ensure platform scalability, security, performance, and compliance with enterprise standards.
• Support data discovery, classification, and governance initiatives across structured and unstructured data sources.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of software development, programming, or technical analysis experience.
• Experience leading enterprise platforms as a Technical Lead or Subject Matter Expert.
• Strong scripting experience (Python, Power Shell, Bash, or similar).
• Experience designing and implementing REST API integrations.
• Strong understanding of enterprise databases including Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or similar.
• Experience working with cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management experience.

• Experience with BigID or similar data privacy/data governance platforms.
• Experience with:

• One Trust
• Collibra
• Varonis
• Securiti.ai
• AWS services including EC2, IAM, Networking, Security Groups, and VPC.
• Understanding of data discovery, data classification, and governance concepts.
• Familiarity with GDPR, CCPA, and enterprise privacy programs.
• Experience working with SharePoint and enterprise repositories.
