A well-established California law firm is seeking a California-admitted litigator to join its Construction and Facilities Group. This is an exceptional opportunity for an attorney who thrives on complex litigation, values teamwork and mentorship, and is looking for a role that offers meaningful case management experience and long-term career growth.
This position is ideal for attorneys from large-firm environments who have handled sophisticated matters and now want greater opportunities to take ownership of cases—serving as first or second chair in trials or arbitrations—while enjoying a collaborative, collegial firm culture.
Responsibilities- Manage and participate in construction and facilities-related litigation matters, including contract disputes, defect claims, and public works issues.
- Handle all aspects of case management, from initial evaluation through discovery, motion practice, trial preparation, and resolution.
- Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, briefs, and motions, and assist with strategy development.
- Collaborate with colleagues and clients to develop effective litigation and settlement approaches.
- Engage in direct client contact and assume increasing responsibility for case leadership and courtroom experience.
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- Active California Bar membership in good standing.
- 5–10 years of litigation experience, preferably in construction-related disputes or complex commercial litigation.
- Strong research, writing, and analytical skills with demonstrated attention to detail.
- Excellent academic credentials (top of class or from a top-tier law school).
- Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- A proactive, entrepreneurial mindset with a sense of humor and a passion for advocacy.
- Hands‑on litigation experience with opportunities to serve as first or second chair in trials and arbitrations.
- A collegial, team‑oriented culture emphasizing mentorship, collaboration, and professional growth.
- Structured training and continuing legal education (CLE) support.
- A strong support team to assist with case management and client service.
- Annual discretionary and billable hours bonuses.
- Comprehensive benefits package, including:
- Health, dental, and vision insurance
- 401(k) with partial match and profit‑sharing
- Paid time off and holidays
- Professional development and CLE opportunities
- Reasonable billable hour requirements and a focus on work‑life balance.
