Position Summary
The Senior Legal Secretary provides high-level administrative and litigation support to attorneys, preparing legal documents, managing court filings, and maintaining complex calendars related to court appearances and regulatory proceedings. This role requires extensive litigation experience, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

Key Responsibilities
Prepare legal correspondence, templates, forms, pleadings, and e-filings on behalf of attorneys
Ensure all legal documents and filings are accurate, complete, and compliant with court and regulatory requirements
Manage and maintain complex legal calendars for court appearances, pleadings, hearings, depositions, meetings, and deadlines
Review notices related to hearings, depositions, interviews, settlements, and conferences
Ensure timely and accurate notifications to attorneys, witnesses, clients, and other relevant parties
Transmit materials and correspondence to federal, state, and local courts and regulatory agencies
Respond to and resolve escalated inquiries regarding cases, hearings, and proceedings
Evaluate and recommend methods for information transmission, conversion, and dissemination
Maintain strict confidentiality of attorney-client information
Assess issues and provide recommendations or resolutions related to legal projects
Required Skills & Qualifications
Required
Associate degree (AA/AS) or certificate/coursework in legal studies, office administration, or related field
4+ years of experience as a Legal Secretary, including litigation experience
Experience working in a law firm or internal legal department
Ability to type 55 words per minute
Experience with litigation practices, legal research, discovery, and evidence handling
Knowledge of federal, state, and local court and regulatory filing requirements
Strong understanding of legal practices, court procedures, and regulatory guidelines
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
Additional
Strong legal writing and oral communication skills
Ability to maintain discretion and client confidence at all times
