The primary responsibilities for the position include, but are not limited to, calendaring deadlines, document management, document organization, document review, Bates labeling, compiling information for discovery responses, pleadings, motions, depositions, and trial preparation, as well as data entry for wage and hour class action cases.
JOB DUTIES
- Gather documents for review; respond to subpoenas, agency charges, and employment and general litigation matters;
- Prepare strong, factually accurate case summaries, position statements, witness lists, legal hold memoranda, and other legal documents;
- Assist with witness preparation for testimony and respond to formal discovery requests;
- Electronic filing in state and federal courts
- Management of litigation databases and support of electronic discovery processes
- Communicate professionally by email or by telephone with clients, federal, state, and local agencies, and court personnel;
- Conduct legal and factual research with respect to labor and employment law and litigation matters;
- Work under the direction of an attorney to assess and resolve routine legal issues
- Calendar, track, and meet all case deadlines; and
- Work on special projects and other matters as requested
- Bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certificate required
- At least 3+ years' general litigation experience; employment litigation experience a plus
- Excellent research skills
- Superior verbal and written communication skills
- Must be a self-starter with superior organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple assignments independently
- Ability to interface with clients and vendors
- Must be detail-oriented
- Ability to problem solve and work with a variety of personalities and work styles
- Ability and willingness to think outside the box to develop solutions to challenging situations
- Proficient with Office 365, Net Docs, IManage or similar document management program, Fox It Pro
- Strong Excel experience
- Strong working knowledge of E-discovery, including the technical aspects of collecting, reviewing, and producing electronically stored information
- Prior experience with litigation support and e-discovery systems such as Everlaw, Relativity, Live Note, Summation, and Trial Director, preferred
- Other duties as assigned
- Must be able to work 5 days in the office for the first 90 days of employment and then a hybrid schedule of 3 days in the office
The salary range is $80,000 to $100,000 per year, with an annual base salary. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including, without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and, if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
