The OpportunityAre you a junior litigator who feels "stuck" in the research library while others go to court? Our Oakland-based firm is seeking a high-energy, ambitious Associate Attorney to join a diverse, fast-paced litigation practice.
This isn't a role for someone looking to sit on the sidelines. We handle a sophisticated "mixed bag" of legal matters—from Product Liability and Business Litigation to Medical Malpractice
, Employment Law
, and Torts
. We provide the platform, the mentorship, and the cases; we just need the right "legal athlete" to help us drive them to the finish line.
Run With It
We believe the best way to learn is by doing. While you will have direct access to seasoned partners for mentorship and strategy, we are looking for a "plug-and-play" associate ready to take ownership of their files.
Your core responsibilities will include:- Active Litigation: Managing the discovery process, drafting complex motions, and preparing for trial.
- Oral Advocacy: Taking and defending depositions and arguing motions in court.
- Client Interface: Serving as a primary point of contact for clients and managing case strategy.
- High-Performance Execution: Maintaining a consistent billable cadence of 1,920 hours per year in a firm that rewards hard work and clinical precision.
We value collaboration and deep-dive mentorship, especially in the early stages of your tenure.
- Onboarding: This position begins with a 100% onsite probationary period in our Oakland office to ensure you are fully integrated into our systems, culture, and case strategies.
- The Future: Upon successful completion of the probationary period, we offer a hybrid work schedule
, allowing you to balance the energy of the office with the focus of a home environment.
- Experienced: 2–4 years of litigation experience (CA Bar membership required).
- Versatile: You can pivot from a breach of contract dispute to a tort file without missing a beat.
- Procedurally Sharp: You are a pro at discovery and have a track record of drafting persuasive, winning motions.
- Driven: You are comfortable with a 1,920-hour billable expectation and thrive in an environment where your output directly impacts case results.
Please send your confidential resume to Spencer McAdoo doogogpac or call/text to discuss this in more detail.
