Our client is seeking a Civil Litigation Attorney for a long‑term contract role supporting a busy and collaborative litigation team. This position focuses on substantive research, drafting, analysis, and strategic case support, offering the opportunity to work closely with experienced litigators across a variety of civil matters.
Responsibilities
+ Draft and revise pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery documents for attorney review
+ Conduct in‑depth legal research and prepare clear, well‑organized memoranda on key civil litigation issues
+ Assist with deposition preparation, including reviewing files, organizing exhibits, and preparing outlines
+ Review and analyze discovery materials, identify relevant information, and prepare concise summaries
+ Summarize medical records, deposition transcripts, and other case materials to support litigation strategy
+ Support case teams with trial preparation, including exhibit lists, witness files, timelines, and binders
+ Manage and track case deadlines, assist with maintaining calendars, and support coordination across active matters
+ Communicate with attorneys, internal staff, and external parties as needed to advance case progression
Requirements
Qualifications
+ 3+ years of civil litigation experience in a law firm or similar environment
+ Strong legal research and writing skills with experience drafting motion work and substantive litigation documents
+ Familiarity with California civil procedure, state and federal court rules, and common litigation workflows
+ Ability to manage multiple deadlines across active matters and adapt to shifting priorities
+ Strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and ability to synthesize large volumes of information
+ Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a fast‑moving practice
+ California barred and in good standing
