Pay Rate: Bay Area - $147,000 to $219,000 per year
Work Mode: Hybrid
Location: Oakland, CA Responsibilities:
  • Lead complex cross-functional projects and contracts.
  • Act as a single point of contact for procurement from project initiation through completion.
  • Develop project procurement plans.
  • Follow the seven-step sourcing process.
  • Support the development of project procurement work processes.
  • Advise senior leadership on contracting strategy and negotiations.
  • Negotiate complex contract issues independently.
  • Identify, analyze, and improve existing business processes.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure alignment.
  • Act as a primary liaison to the company's Legal Department.
  • Provide guidance, support, mentorship, and training to less experienced staff.
  • Develop and deliver contract management training to all stakeholders.
  • Promote knowledge sharing and use of best practices across the company.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's (BA/BS) degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 9 years of experience in a similar role executing and managing contracts for major heavy civil, pipeline, or industrial construction projects.
Preferred Skills:
  • Master's degree in Construction Management or related discipline.
  • Experience in developing complex contracting strategies such as EPC/CMAR/PDB/DB/GMP.
  • Certification such as PMP, PgMP, CCE, or Lean Six Sigma.
  • Experience in major construction project controls, cost estimating, and scheduling.
  • Experience with QA and QC regarding contract documents.
  • Expertise in management, administration, and negotiation of engineering and construction contracts.
  • Ability to apply business knowledge, project management methodologies, and best practices.
  • Conflict management skills with a focus on win-win resolutions.
  • Knowledge of budget and resource allocation, contracts, bids, agreements, and RFPs.
  • Excellent communication skills for diverse audiences.
  • Strong analytical, critical, and technical thinking skills.
  • Proficiency in developing reports, models, and simulations.
  • Ability to prioritize workload independently based on department priorities and goals.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office and contract information systems like SRM, Ariba, SAP.
