The successful candidate will be highly organized, collaborative, and proficient in coordinating cross-functional teams including designers, contractors, and clients.
In this role, you will manage multiple commercial interior projects across Oakland, ensuring seamless execution from kickoff through completion. You will serve as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders, lead on-site operations, and drive team performance while maintaining compliance with safety and building regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management
- Direct and oversee commercial interiors projects, including workplace tenant improvements, landlord services, and building repositioning across Oakland.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and scopes of work.
- Coordinate with architects, designers, contractors, and vendors to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor construction progress and proactively resolve issues.
- Prepare and present comprehensive project status updates to clients and stakeholders.
- Ensure adherence to building codes, safety standards, and quality guidelines.
- Act as the main client contact throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage client expectations to maintain high satisfaction levels.
- Facilitate clear communication among all project stakeholders.
- Conduct post-project reviews to capture lessons learned and best practices.
- Mentor and guide junior project staff, fostering skill development and growth.
- Encourage collaboration between internal teams and external partners.
- Monitor team performance, ensuring productivity and accountability.
- 12-15 years of experience in commercial interior project management.
- Proven success managing workplace tenant projects, landlord services, and building repositioning.
- Strong knowledge of construction documents, drawings, and specifications.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with project management software (Procore, MS Project, or similar).
- Ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously in fast-paced environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field preferred.
- Knowledge of building codes, safety standards, and industry best practices.
