We bring together planners, engineers, architects, construction management staff, environmental, strategic communications, economists, management consultants and specialists across disciplines to solve complex mobility challenges with innovation, technical excellence, and a deep understanding of community needs.

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Principal Project Manager to join our growing Northern California Transportation Business Group. The ideal candidate will have experience working with transportation agencies and local municipalities in Northern California, delivering a variety of infrastructure improvement projects, and will be familiar with local, state, and federal project development processes and various project delivery models, including design‑bid‑build, design‑build, and CMGC.

Responsibilities
  • Direct and coordinate work of single or multidisciplinary teams throughout the project’s lifecycle (from development & initiation to close‑out)
  • Be responsible for any project assignment regardless of size, visibility, number of disciplines, technical complexity or number of staff.
  • Produce and coordinate several projects concurrently
  • Establish client relations and be involved with marketing, contractual, design, and production meetings
  • Conduct work sessions for deliverable development in conjunction with other staff and stakeholders
  • Coordinate staffing and workload through the entire project life cycle, and ensure completion of deliverables on schedule
  • Track financial aspects of projects, and coordinate and adjust work effort with the team to ensure that work is completed within the parameters of agreed‑to budget and schedule
  • Work with the Accounting, Operational, and Business leadership for periodic project reviews
  • Implement QA/QC procedures
  • Supervise large project staff and act as a mentor for less‑experienced Project Managers
  • Lead pursuit of new project opportunities and lead proposal development efforts in a Contract or Project Manager capacity
  • Lead and/or support client development for specific transportation clients in the Northern California area, working in collaboration with the Market Sector Leads, Business Development Leader and Client Development Leaders
  • Perform other duties as needed
Preferred Qualifications
  • Developed business relationships with Federal, State, and regional agencies
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully leading project pursuits
  • A minimum of 10 years project management experience including CMGC or design build experience
  • Master’s degree
  • PMP certification
  • Participation with industry organizations
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • 15 years related experience
  • A minimum 7 years project management experience
  • Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered (e.g., PE or P.Eng)
  • MS Office and MS Project experience is required (Access experience is a plus)
