Job DescriptionThe Southwest (SW) Regional Marketing Manager leads and executes regional marketing initiatives in support of Coffman Engineers’ strategic growth objectives. This role involves collaborating across the region and within the marketing department to achieve objectives, being the “go-to” for regional‑specific marketing goals (directing resources, coordinating efforts, some implementation), and coordinating internal marketing training. The role is responsible for teaching and coaching both marketing and business development (BD) concepts, strategies, and tactics, as well as the culture, services, clients, projects, and people of the company.
The ideal candidate for the SW Regional Marketing Manager position should have a strong background in marketing and business development, with the ability to teach and coach concepts, strategies, and tactics. They should be organized, efficient, and passionate about collaboration and learning new concepts. The candidate should also have experience in maintaining relationships with key clients, staff leadership, development of marketplace positioning, and marketing campaigns to increase regional visibility.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Oversee marketing staff, including supervision, performance, hiring, orientation, and mentorship.
- Regional writing communications, strategic proposals, interviews, and economic/market research.
- Develop and implement marketing campaigns to increase Coffman’s visibility and thought leadership.
- Travel as needed to support the offices in the region (including but not limited to Bay Area, Los Angeles, Orange County, San Diego, Las Vegas, and Phoenix).
- Represent Coffman Engineers to clients and the community, including coordinating client management with internal staff and attending conferences and industry‑related events.
- Maintain relationships with key client contacts outside Coffman.
- Train and mentor engineering staff on marketing/proposal‑related best practices.
- Maintain up‑to‑date understanding of AEC marketing/BD best practices and terminology.
- Guide and maintain current understanding of the economy and markets, focused on regional and sector‑specific insights.
- Coordinate internal and external company communications.
- Manage industry conference involvement, including sponsor ships, booth logistics, and personnel.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities
- Excellent knowledge of A/E/C industry marketing fundamentals as well as terminology and delivery methods.
- Mentoring/teaching and leadership/managerial skills.
- Must be a self‑starter who is able to see the big picture and connect the vision of the company with your job, be persistent, and follow through in a consistent manner.
- Highly competent in marketing theory and practice.
- Comprehensive knowledge of firm’s practice, clientele, goals, policies, and procedures.
- Passionate about the client or pursuit and taking ownership of your work.
- Able to multi‑task and prioritize in a fast‑paced environment.
- Possess strong critical thinking, organizational, and analytical abilities.
- Maintain positive working relationships with internal and external customers.
- Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel and Adobe InDesign required. Proficiency in Microsoft CRM preferred. Must understand database concepts.
