About the RoleAs a Pack Associate, you will support the day-to-day functioning of the Kitchen by carefully packing our amazing Good Eggs Kitchen (GEK) products with adherence to food safety, sanitation, and any additional standards and specifications as laid out by QC Packers and Supervisors.
Duties & Responsibilities- Examine and inspect containers, materials, and products to ensure that packing specifications are met
- Mark and label containers, container tags, or products using marking tools
- Obtain, move, and sort products, materials, containers, and orders, using hand tools
- Place or pour products or materials into containers using hand tools and equipment, or fill containers from spouts or chutes
- Remove completed or defective products or materials
- Seal containers or materials according to GEK standards
- Clean containers, materials, supplies, or work areas, using cleaning solutions and hand tools
- Load completed and packed material and products into crates per GEK Specifications
- Measure, weigh and count products and materials
- Record time and temperature information on specified forms and records
- Develop product knowledge for identification, quality assurance, food safety, and proper completion of tasks
- Communicate to QC packers and Supervisors any instance where food safety, quality, or other GEK standards are not being met
- Maintain quality of service by following operational standards
- This role will be on their feet most/all of their shift and need to be able to maintain quality and pace of work
- It is the responsibility of every team member to clarify any areas of uncertainty around conduct, performance, expectations, or duties as they arise and meet all standards as outlined by your manager and supervisor
- Previous food industry pick/pack experience
- Willingness to work in a team environment
- Good communication skills

- Ability to use standard warehousing tools such as box cutters, hand trucks, and pallet jacks
- Understanding of units of measure such as ounces and pounds, pints, quarts, gallons, etc
- Understanding of how to use digital scales & thermometers
- Ability to work with urgency and meet required metrics daily
- Proficiency in spoken/written English
- This position requires slip-resistant footwear and uniforms that will be provided to you
- Flexible schedule needed. Job hazards may include slips and falls, cuts, and burns, but injuries are seldom serious.
- Cold environment for most/all of shift (45 Degrees and below).
- Will be going in and out of the freezer or refrigerator as needed.
- Busy, fast-paced Kitchen Night, weekend, and holiday shifts required.
- Will be working on a computer part of your shift.
- We characterize this role as physically demanding. Must be able to perform physical activities requiring considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as lifting, walking, balancing, stooping, bending, pushing, pulling carts, and handling materials.
- Must be able to regularly lift, carry and push and pull between 30 to 50 pounds.
- Walking:
Up to 8 hours per day. - Standing:
Up to 8 hours per day. - Ability to work for extended periods in refrigeration and a freezer (-10F).
- Seating:
Up to 1 hour per day. - Reaching:
Up, down, or laterally, up to 8 hours per day. - Please be aware that you are required to wear PPE for Covid-19, food safety, local, state, or federal laws, related PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) as mandated by Company Policy.
- Must be able to work in a multitude of environments.
$18.50 - $18.50 an hour
