Position: Stepdown Unit Nurse (RN) in Oakland, CA
A specialized nursing opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse with a strong background in complex gastroenterology, including expertise in ERCP cases. This contract position is based in Oakland, CA, offering a challenging and rewarding work environment within a respected medical center. The role focuses on comprehensive stepdown care, managing patients throughout their admission with a compassionate, competent, and patient-centered approach.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage nursing care delivery from admission to discharge, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and hygiene
• Apply nursing processes aligned with department policies to provide cost-effective care
• Coordinate care involving patients, physicians, families, and multidisciplinary teams for optimal outcomes
• Respond promptly to medical and environmental emergencies, prioritizing patient well-being
• Conduct thorough assessments, develop individualized care plans, and regularly evaluate patient progress
• Administer treatments, medications, and nursing interventions with precision and timeliness
• Maintain accurate documentation and effective communication with healthcare professionals

Qualifications and

Experience:

• Current California RN License
• ACLS and BLS certifications
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, with at least 6 months in a traveler role
• Demonstrated skills in gastroenterology nursing, including complex diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
• Ability to work every other weekend and be on-call as needed
• Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking capabilities

Shift and

Schedule:

• Day shift:
  Four 10-hour shifts per week, from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM
• Weekend coverage every other weekend
• On-call availability as required
