The Bridge RN

The Bridge RN is a night shift registered nurse based in Same Day Surgery who provides overnight coverage for the department while serving as a key resource to support hospital patient flow. After ensuring the overnight needs of Same Day Surgery are met, the Bridge RN will primarily provide nursing care to admitted patients boarding in the Emergency Department. It is anticipated that the majority of scheduled shifts will be spent caring for ED boarding patients, depending on daily patient volumes and operational needs.

This position was created to improve patient throughput, enhance continuity of care, and provide additional nursing support during periods of high inpatient boarding. The Bridge RN works collaboratively with Emergency Department staff, hospitalists, inpatient units, and ancillary departments to ensure boarded patients receive safe, timely, and high-quality care until an inpatient bed becomes available.

The RN provides professional nursing services for patients and their families and/or for the nursing department. Collaborates with other health care providers and health care team members to achieve expected patient outcomes and improve the care environment. Nurses use the nursing process and evidence based practice to coordinate and provide direct care and services that support care.

Level II Registered Nurse (RN):

The Level II RN, under the direction of the Nurse Manager, is accountable for provision of competent patient care based on established standards and the nursing process. The Level II Registered Nurse may assume expanded unit roles as available and assigned by Nurse Manager as a charge nurse or preceptor. The Level II nurse supports peers in the delivery of patient care, uses appropriate team communication methods, and practices care that reflects the patient condition and priorities.

The Level II nurse provides support to team problem solving. The Level II nurse identifies opportunities for self-growth and contributes to the development of other learners. The Level II nurse contributes to safe unit environment and operations.

PAY RANGE: $40.03 - $51 ( + Night shift diffs )
* The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
