UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland Operating Room Nurse
The UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland (OR) consists of 11 surgical suites and 1 procedural. Our primary focus is multidisciplinary team-based approach and staffing. Services include, but are not limited to:
Neurology, Ortho/Spine, Otolaryngology, Urology, Plastics, Ophthalmology, Dental, Cardiac, General Surgery, GI, Hem/Onc. All patient care team members are responsible to meet patient needs, demonstrate willingness to learn new skills, and foster a harmonious work environment in which high quality patient care and customer service is consistently provided. Team members promote a cooperative working relationship with each other, physicians, other disciplines and the public by facilitating and enhancing communication, displaying honesty and respect, displaying sensitivity to cultural differences, and expressing and accepting feedback in a professional manner.
Utilizes the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide safe, therapeutic care. Functions as a member of the interdisciplinary and nursing teams; carries out established nursing procedures and performs related duties as required; performs nursing care for patients with more complex needs with assistance and supervision. Assists with the management of patient care administered by other members of the nursing team.
- Eligible candidates include, but are not limited to:
- Internal/External RNs with minimum of two (2) years' RN experience in pediatric high-acuity settings, including PICU, NICU, or Pediatric Emergency Department, who demonstrate the required clinical competencies for pediatric PACU nursing.
- Excellent verbal and written skills. Must be well organized and detail oriented with the ability to multi-task and work independently and under pressure.
- Basic computer keyboard skills and general PC knowledge.

- Required On-Call commitment
- Two (2) years of Critical Care experience as RN (PICU, ED, ICU)
- BSN Preferred
- Experience in Level 1 Trauma hospital
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of California.
- Current healthcare provider CPR certification
- Active American Heart Association PALS Certification
- ASPAN certification strongly preferred

Salary InformationThe final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
