American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric Operating Room position requiring at least 3 years of Peds General OR experience and teaching hospital background.
Details- Pediatric Operating Room (Peds OR) setting within a children's hospital
- Day shift, 3x12 hour schedule with variable start times (0645 or 0845), Monday-Friday with occasional weekends
- Epic charting system experience required
- Floating to other UCSF facilities within a 75+ mile radius may be required at any time during the assignment
- Active CA RN license required
- BSN required
- Current BLS and PALS certification required
- CNOR certification preferred
- Minimum 3 years of Peds General OR experience required
- Trauma Level I experience required;
Trauma Level II experience preferred - Teaching hospital experience required and must be noted in employment history
- Prior charge nurse experience preferred
- Experience in Ambulatory OR, CVOR, General OR, Peds CVOR, and Trauma settings preferred
- Two professional references from most recent employer required for consideration
- Provide perioperative nursing care across a wide range of pediatric surgical specialties including general surgery, orthopedics, urology, ENT, ophthalmology, neurology, and cardiovascular procedures
- Perform skills such as administration of blood and blood products, infection control, specimen handling, laser and radiation safety, and universal protocol time-out procedures
- Any prior employment with any University of California medical facility or its acquired facilities must be disclosed, including dates worked, units, and manager names for a rehire eligibility review
- All requested time off must be disclosed at time of consideration and approved by the manager; no time off permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment or added mid-contract
- Local candidates are accepted at the same pay rate as traveling candidates
- Travel pairs are allowed but generally will not be placed on the same unit; married couples may not work on the same unit
