Prep Cook

We are hiring immediately for a full‑time PREP COOK position.

Alameda Juvenile Justice Center – 3500 Mountain Boulevard, Oakland, CA 94619 (online applications only). Full‑time schedule: 4:30 am to 1:00 pm, days may vary. Further details will be provided during the interview.

• Pay Rate: $22.00–$25.00 per hour

• Obtain daily production schedule and preparation requirements from the Chef
• Prepare items on production sheets following established quantities and recipes
• Complete and follow daily production worksheets and waste log sheets; taste completed meals to ensure quality
• Operate and clean equipment per department procedures after each use
• Store, label and date all food items according to policy; follow HACCP guidelines
• Complete all required documentation, reports and logs as required
• Comply with federal, state and local health and sanitation regulations and department sanitation procedures
• Takes orders from customers and prepare items requiring short preparation time
• Serve customers in an efficient and friendly manner
• Complete orders from steam tables and grill and serve customers at multiple stations
• Use approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures and standard portion control
• Resolve customer concerns
• Perform other duties as assigned

• 2–3 years of previous prep cooking experience
• Valid Food Handler’s card preferred
