We offer high-protein prepared meals with the highest health and ingredient standards in the industry. Our meals are designed to help customers maximize energy and longevity. We don’t use processed ingredients, refined sugars, emulsifiers, or seed oils, and we use exclusively organic, nutrient-dense ingredients. All meals are packed in microplastic-free glass jars. We’re reinventing how prepared meals are made at scale.

As a senior production sous chef, you will be responsible for helping to lead production and managing a team of 40+ part‑time employees in producing recipes for 25,000+ meals weekly. This is a unique opportunity to join a rapidly expanding company that sets the highest standards for health and flavor in prepared meals.

• Work with the executive sous chef to manage a team of 40+ part‑time cooks to execute large‑scale food production, ensuring every meal meets Locale's quality and health standards
• Create and refine processes that improve efficiency, consistency, and quality
• Maintain full food safety compliance across all production processes
• Jump in to produce more challenging new recipes as needed, while ensuring that recipes are correct

• At least 5 years of experience in large professional kitchens or food manufacturing; you’ve handled high-volume food production
• Have managed teams of 15+ chefs/production associates
• Strong understanding of food health and safety regulations
• Comfortable in a rapidly changing startup environment; you’ll work with a small, amazing team to accomplish hard things
• Moderate computer literacy
• Bilingual (English & Spanish). Preferred fluency in Spanish

• Tuesday – Saturday; schedule flexibility is important as we grow
• Facility located in Hayward CA. Short term (6 months) will be located in Oakland as we build out our new facility
