BSG is seeking a Campus Residential Security Shift Supervisor for a prestigious private university in Oakland. The role of Security Shift Supervisor will oversee the program of providing residence access controls through high visibility, deterrence, patrols, safety escorts, building checks, and community engagement. Shift Supervisors and their teams are expected to foster positive relationships with students, staff, and visitors, promoting a safe and welcoming environment.
The Supervisor and their team are responsible to be the primary responders to emergencies, monitoring security, communications, and fire/life safety systems, accurately documenting events, and enforcing campus residential rules. The Supervisor reports to the Account Manager and is the liaison between campus personnel, students, law enforcement, and BSG management.
Shift Supervisors ensure all shifts are staffed 24/7. Candidates should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, strong attention to detail, and the capability to remain calm and effective in emergency situations. Prior experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field is preferred but not required. Shift: Full Time (Weekend availability required)
Hourly Rate: $28.50 per hour.
Note:
This position is aligned with the college calendar and is tentatively scheduled to be staffed beginning mid August 2026 until May 1st. This schedule is subject to change depending on business needs.

Requirements & Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Eligibility to work in the United States.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Possess a current California Guard Card License.
- A valid Driver's License and a clean driving record for 3 years is required.
- Reliable transportation is necessary.
- Proficient in basic computer and smartphone usage.
- Must be able to speak, read, and write in English to create accurate reports; additional language skills are a plus.
- Strong listening skills, patience, and compassion, particularly when interacting with community members experiencing emotional or psychological challenges.
- Ability to remain calm in crisis situations, think critically, de-escalate conflicts, and communicate effectively.
- Maintain a positive, professional demeanor in adherence to all laws, regulations, company policies, and confidentiality standards.
- Ensure compliance with both company and client policies and procedures while being open to performance improvement.
- Possess a clear understanding of emergency response procedures and protocols.
- At least one year of experience in security, mobile patrol, or event staff roles.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Successfully pass a background check and drug screening.
- Performs other related duties, as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
This role requires specific physical abilities to ensure the Security Guard can effectively perform essential job duties. The candidate must be able to:
- Stand, Walk or Sit for Extended Periods:
Ability to sit while driving a vehicle, stand or walk for long periods, often for several hours at a time, including traversing outdoor areas with uneven surfaces, without significant physical strain. - Climb Stairs:
