On Call, 8 Hours/Day (Monday-Friday 7:00AM-3:30PM or 9:30AM-6:00PM)

This is a continuous examination process and may close at any time, with little or no notice. An application review may occur at any time and qualified candidates who have submitted applications will be invited to participate in the testing process. Qualified applicants submitting applications after the review date will be considered in the next examination process. This list will be utilized to fill any vacancies that may occur during the one year life of the Eligibility List, which may include temporary positions.
The list generated from this recruitment will be used to fill both substitute and permanent vacancies in the District.
Under the direction of the Principal or designee, observes and monitors a school campus to maintain order, safety, and welfare of students during non-classroom activities; assures student compliance with school and District policies and regulations; reports unusual activities to authorized personnel; ensures that campus visitors are authorized to be on campus; assists campus visitors with campus orientation and directions.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS:The Campus Monitor classification is distinguished from Student Safety Monitor in that it patrols campuses for safety and more advanced student intervention.
The Campus Monitor classification is distinguished from Campus Security Officer in that the latter performs the most advanced student intervention on high school campuses and roving multiple school sites district wide.
Maintains the order and safety of school buildings, grounds, and facilities to ensure a safe and attractive school environment.
Patrols school campus perimeter, buildings, lunch areas, hallways, restrooms, gates, parking lots, and areas adjacent to campus to maintain the order and safety of the campus.
Maintains contact with the principal or designee utilizing a two-way radio to report unauthorized activities and unauthorized persons on school grounds to appropriate authority; reports problems of a serious nature including recurring behavioral problems, damage to school property, and safety hazards to staff according to approved procedures; complete incident reports as needed.
Unlocks/locks gates, restrooms, classrooms, hallways, and other school property as assigned.
Approaches visitors and suspicious or unauthorized individuals to determine the reason for being on campus; escorts visitors to the appropriate location; ensures that unauthorized individuals leave the campus as soon as possible.
Monitors and reinforces student behavior expectations and activity during passing periods between classes to ensure the timely return of students to class and to prevent unauthorized departure from the school premises; directs and/or accompanies students around campus as needed.
Enforces school and District rules, regulations and policies according to established procedures to ensure the safety of students and staff, cars and property, including parking lot restrictions and regulations.
Assist in supervising and maintaining security during school bus loading and unloading, athletic events, student recreational activities, and other activities.
Cooperates with law enforcement personnel involved in vehicle control and/or investigation of vandalism and thefts occurring in parking lot areas.
