Hourly rate: $42.71 (Step 76) to $55.84 (Step 99)

This position reports to a designated supervisory or managerial position.
CURRENT ASSIGNMENTThis announcement will be used to build a pool of qualified candidates for Structures Equipment Operator for vacancies that may occur within the next twelve (12) months.
The San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit District (BART) is seeking highly skilled and safety-focused individuals to join our team as a Structures Equipment Operator. This position supports critical maintenance, repair, and replacement activities for BART structures by operating high-rail vehicles, on-road heavy construction vehicles, and a variety of construction tools and equipment. The assignment plays a key role in ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the transit system through effective support of structures maintenance work in the field.
The most qualified candidates for this position will have highly developed competencies in the following areas, which will be reinforced with related work experience and will be clearly articulated during the selection process:
- Operation of high-rail and on-road heavy construction vehicles requiring a Class A commercial driver’s license
- Safe use of heavy and light construction tools and equipment for structures maintenance and repair
- Application of materials and methods used in structures maintenance, repair, and replacement
- Adherence to safety regulations, operating procedures, and hazard mitigation practices
- Performance of physically demanding work in varied field and environmental conditions
This is a SEIU Local 1021 Bargaining unit position. However, all SEIU members must follow the "Bid Form Process"; failure to comply will invalidate an employee's application.
