Field Installation Manager – Renewal by Andersen – Oakland, CA

Founded in 1903, Andersen Windows has been the world’s largest and most recognized brand for exclusive window and door systems. Renewal by Andersen® was founded with the objective of creating a different and better window and door replacement experience for homeowners. We are looking to expand our Operations team by filling a key role within the organization with a Field Installation Manager.
The Field Installation Manager (FIM) is a full‑time position responsible for territorial support of all projects from post‑sale through window installation or service completion. The FIM works closely with Installation Managers to support their training and development, assist with escalated customer issues, and ensure that customers and the company remain aligned at every project phase. The role also supports recruiting for sub‑contractors, verifies crew performance against Renewal by Anderson standards, maintains the central database of customer data, and serves as a secondary point of contact throughout the project to ensure customer satisfaction.
The FIM works with the Director of Installation to drive monthly Installed Revenue Metrics and Net Promoter Score goals.
- Oversee initial training schedule for new Installation Managers and lead their progressive development.
- Train new Installation Managers to take detailed measurements of residential windows and doors.
- Work with existing Installation Managers to further develop accurate measurement and timely submission practices.
- Provide constructive feedback to Installation Managers to foster growth and improvement.
- Participate in performance management of Installation Managers and lead additional training as needed.
- Identify situations that could impact customer expectations, job costs, or code performance and propose alternative solutions to improve the business.
- Attend installation appointments independently and with the Installation Manager team for quality assurance and guidance.
- Respond to escalated customer issues and perform job site visits as needed to resolve issues.
- Keep team members informed of customer interactions and actions taken.
- Ensure the Installation Manager team checks in and out with crews to review projects, set expectations, answer questions, and address outstanding items.
- Review paperwork from the Installation Manager team to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness; review job costs and labor.
- Attend job site visits to audit crew performance, job status, and customer satisfaction.
- Participate in product knowledge training with office staff to enhance remote customer assistance.
- Facilitate remote assessments to diagnose issues at sales, measure, install, and service stages.
- Collaborate with the Director of Installation on additional projects to improve the Installation Manager and installer teams.
- Work closely with the Director of Installation to create measurable processes for existing and future Installation Manager surveys.
- 5+ years of experience in residential construction.
- 5+ years of experience in project management on the field with subcontractors.
- Experience in measuring, ordering, and installing residential windows.
- Ability to independently manage, negotiate with, and evaluate contractors in the field.
- Ability to lead, develop, train, and directly supervise Installation Managers and field crews.
- Customer focus, experience, and commitment to delivering excellence in customer service.
- Ability to resolve disputes or payment issues with professionalism.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple assignments.
- Basic computer skills including MS Word, Excel, and Project.
- Good character, professional appearance, excellent oral and written communication, team player, and strong work ethic.
- Licensed California driver and access to a reliable insured vehicle.
Knowledge or experience in home improvement.
