SummaryThis position is responsible for providing light repair and maintenance (unskilled to semi-skilled) of the building and equipment across all departments, as well as for maintenance and repairs requested by staff and residents.
Detailed Responsibilities- Completes resident work orders for repairs and/or painting in accommodations, common areas, and other campus and facility physical structures as assigned.
- Performs preventative maintenance procedures on mechanical equipment; inspects belts, checks fluid levels, replaces filters, greases bearings, repairs or replaces broken parts; cleans and inspects boiler, etc.
- Assists in the refurbishment of rooms.by performing varnishing and painting of various surfaces.
- Skilled in using essential hand tools, hand-held power tools, ladders, essential plumbing tools, drain cleaning machines, minor electrical, minor carpentry, and painting.
- Assists skilled maintenance workers in performing repairs and other duties as assigned.
- Maintains records of scheduled maintenance procedures.
- Paint walls and trim work.
- Performs all other related duties as assigned.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
- Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- High School diploma or GED
- 6 Months building maintenance experience
