Hydrogen Field Service Technician

First Element Fuel is seeking a Hydrogen Field Service Technician to support its True Zero hydrogen fueling network across California. In this field-based role, you will install, commission, and maintain hydrogen fueling station equipment, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operation. Responsibilities include troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and control systems, performing preventive maintenance, and responding to service calls and emergencies. You will follow strict safety and regulatory standards, document all work, and collaborate with engineering and operations teams to improve station performance and support the expansion of clean, zero-emission transportation infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, and maintain hydrogen fueling station equipment across assigned region
• Perform troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs on mechanical, electrical, and control systems
• Conduct routine inspections, calibrations, and preventive maintenance to maximize uptime
• Monitor station performance, document service activities, and update maintenance records
• Follow strict safety protocols, procedures, and regulatory requirements for hydrogen systems
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to resolve technical issues and implement upgrades
• Support startup, testing, and optimization of new hydrogen fueling sites
• Provide on-site support during emergencies, outages, and critical system events
• Communicate technical findings and recommendations to supervisors and cross-functional teams
• Travel regularly to field locations and represent First
• Element Fuel professionally at customer sites
